Lisa Shapir, Psy.D
Dr. Shapir has been a psychologist for nearly 20 years and currently sits on the Board of the Suffolk County Psychological Association. She earned her doctorate from Yeshiva University and trained at Cornell Medical Center, Bronx Children’s Psychiatric Hospital and The Center For Preventive Psychiatry. She treats children, adolescents, young adults, and adults with such issues as anxiety, bereavement, depression, trauma, chronic and terminal illness, medical issues, trichotillomania, skin picking disorder, ADHD, LGBT issues, parenting, stepfamilies, coping after divorce, women’s issues, school-related issues, and college transition.
Dr. Shapir utilizes a variety of modalities including Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Comprehensive Behavioral Model (ComB), Habit Reversal Training, Stimulus Control, Behavioral Therapy, Integrative Therapy, Group Therapy and Social Skills Training. She tailors the most appropriate treatment to the patient based upon the individual’s needs.
